How to Import PXW-Z100 XAVC to FCP7 to Edit

The latest Sony’s 4K camera, PXW-Z100 XDCAM camcorder, shoots HD, QFHD and 4K footage in XAVC format. With the familiar “Handycam” shape and a list price less than $6,500, this new camera puts professional 4K capabilities in common folk’s hand. Clearly, Sony is moving 4K not just into movies, but into the home, corporate world, sports, and government.

Is PXW-Z100 worth buying? I would say Yes! Though some people complain that their FCP7 does not accept the XAVC recording format and thus the post editing work would be troublesome, I don’t think it will be a problem that matters a lot.
